I build software where code meets 3D.

I'm Ahmed Aziz Yedes, a simulation lead and software engineer based in Paris. My work sits at the intersection of real-time 3D, simulation, rendering and robotics — with a particular focus on Unreal Engine and drone simulation.

About me

Engineering realistic virtual worlds.

My professional journey has grown from software engineering and applied AI into real-time simulation. At Parrot Drones, I've worked on the design, maintenance and evolution of a simulator used by perception, AI and embedded teams, before moving into a simulation lead role.

Simulation & rendering

I develop Unreal Engine systems for realistic simulation: 3D environments, procedural generation, vehicle and pedestrian behavior, and physical or optical sensor models including Gaussian noise, lens distortion, thermal cameras, lens flare and temperature models.

Tools for creators

Outside my professional work, I create Unreal Engine tools and educational content under Yedes Codes. My Fab projects include the Objects Spawner System and Landscape Patch System, with a focus on practical workflows that make real-time 3D creation faster and more flexible.

What I do

From low-level code to visual systems.

I enjoy problems that require both engineering rigor and a strong visual understanding — especially when software has to reproduce or interact with the physical world.

Unreal Engine

C++, Blueprints, Niagara and real-time systems across Unreal Engine 4 and 5.

Simulation

Drone behavior, physics, Gazebo, Chaos Physics and simulation architecture.

Rendering & sensors

Optical effects, thermal cameras, sensor imperfections and realistic 3D environments.

Software engineering

C/C++, Python, Bash, C#, multithreading, real-time software and automated testing.

Procedural 3D

Procedural environment generation, terrain tools, Blender and runtime content systems.

Developer tools

CI/CD, Linux, Git/Gerrit, technical documentation and tools for technical and non-technical users.

Experience

Building simulation technology.

My work at Parrot has evolved from contributing to the simulator core and its transition toward Unreal Engine to taking responsibility for the drone simulation activity.
